Laura C. Jenifer is the Managing Partner in the firm of Cherry & Jenifer, P.A. inTowson, Maryland. Ms. Jenifer has been a member of the Maryland Bar since 1990 and the Rhode Island Bar since 1997. Ms. Jenifer has experience in the litigation of cases in a variety of practice areas, including wrongful death, personal injury, employment discrimination, wage claims, breach of contracts, equine law, assault and battery, and guardianship matters.
Ms. Jenifer was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland where she received her under graduate degree in Pre-Law Studies at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland in 1985. Ms. Jenifer continued her legal education at the University of Baltimore School of Law and graduated in 1990. She clerked for the Honorable Edward A. DeWaters Jr. on the Circuit Court for Baltimore County and the Honorable Richard P. Gilbert, Chief Judge of the Court of Special Appeals. During the course of her career Ms. Jenifer has been in private practice in Maryland and Rhode Island. She also worked for the Department of the Attorney General in the State of Rhode Island in the civil litigation department.
Civic and Community Service
Ms. Jenifer served on the Board of Directors of the Save the Bay Foundation and the Newport Aquarium while residing in Rhode Island She is currently an active member of the Civil Litigation and Animal Law Sections of the Maryland State Bar Association. Ms. Jenifer serves as a Joint District Commissioner of a Maryland Region Pony Club.
